2012 Winter Bridal Show Prize Package Winner
Congratulations to Ashlee Hubbard of Middleton, the winner of this year’s Wedding Planner & Guide Winter Show Package valued at over $12,750!
Ashlee and her fiancé Brandon had many mutual friends and knew of each other throughout their years at UW-Madison. However, it wasn’t until their last summer in Madison that their paths finally crossed and they were able to discover a connection. After his graduation, Brandon decided to stay in Madison for graduate school while Ashlee finished her last semester of school. And the rest, as they say, is history.
After his first proposal attempt was thwarted by the weather, a determined Brandon did not give up; he made adjustments. While at work a few days later, Brandon was thinking about how Ashlee was planning on being away from their apartment for a few hours that evening. He knew he had to put his second plan into action that night.
He planned to decorate the apartment while Ashlee was out, surprising her when she arrived home. What he did not know was that Ashlee would change her plans and decide not to go out after all! Again, he adjusted. He sneaked into the apartment and into their second bedroom. He set up a myriad of candles to spell out “Will you marry me?” and sprinkled hundreds of rose petals around the room. Ashlee did not hear a thing. Once the set up was complete, Brandon pretended to get home from work as usual. He led her down to the glowing message where he got down on one knee and proposed.
After their wedding in October, Ashlee and Brandon hope to continue in their careers and start enjoying their lives together – becoming their own family as Ashlee and Brandon Roeder. They would love to start a family and buy a home soon after, but are really just excited to start on their journey together.
