Nestled in the quaint little river town of Paoli, located just outside of Madison among pretty stone buildings and the serene Sugar River, this intimate vintage outdoor wedding gets better and better with every peek. From custom made wood centerpiece boxes overflowing with lush peach tea roses to the collection of local Wisconsin cheeses, ice cream, and honey favors, to guests enjoying cocktails and lawn games, it’s a win through and through. WEDDING DATE:  09/23/2017

HOW DID YOU MEET?  We were first introduced by mutual friends in Madison.  Then Matt’s perfectly executed “dog park dates” turned into real dates and the rest is history.

HOW DID YOU KNOW HE WAS “THE ONE?” We complement each other in the best ways. His constant support, encouragement, and love  is a daily reminder how amazing it is marrying your best friend. Also, his unending love for my dogs was the deal breaker. 🙂

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: He proposed New Years Eve 2016, one hour before our 17-hour drive home to Wisconsin for a belated Christmas and to celebrate a friend’s wedding. Made the drive much easier.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS: The first dress I tried on was in Denver.  I had my mom take several pictures of dresses I had tried on but kept coming back to this dress and its elegance. After a few more weeks of shopping around, I had the chance to try this dress on again in Madison while home for the planning process and when I did, I had a gut feeling this was “it.” The fit was everything I was looking for, with an illusion neckline, vintage vibe, a satin blush underskirt with unbelievable chantilly lace. It was very easy to dance in and the little structure of the dress kept me cool on our unseasonably hot wedding day.

WERE THERE ANY PERSONAL TOUCHES OR DIY ELEMENTS? We had favors for the guests that my parents made including honey jars with “Meant to Bee” tags and lace design, mason jars with personalized names for stops at the “Hop Garden” – the microbrewery on site, and wooden blocks to serve fruit kabobs.  My mother constructed a display out of my great-grandmother’s antique dresser to display wedding pictures from our parents, grandparents and sibling’s weddings. Also, my 98-year-old grandmother’s wedding tiara was incorporated into my bouquet.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT FROM YOUR WEDDING? During the first dance with Matt being able to look around and see all of our family and friends there to celebrate with us and seeing how much they were enjoying the lights, the outdoor venue, the personal touches of: our friend’s cheese, ice cream and small-batch beer, made the months of hard work and planning with our parents worth every minute.
