Kaity and Alex met for a coffee date after matching on Tinder back in 2015, the summer before their senior year at the University of Missouri. Though they had attended the same school for years, their differing majors--Kaity in journalism and Alex in mechanical engineering--meant sharing classes was unlikely.
After sipping on lattes and enjoying casual conversation for hours, they decided to keep the date going with a walk around campus, too excited to keep getting to know one another to mind a light rain with no umbrellas. From then on, Kaity and Alex became inseparable, supporting one another through earning their undergraduate degrees and through several years of long-distance dating, with Kaity moving to Texas and Alex enrolling in the University of Missouri's MBA program.
In 2018, the couple both found jobs in Madison, Wisconsin, and quickly made the city their home, even adopting a beloved cat named Luna. They faced many challenges during the pandemic, but overcame them together, learning, "we had an ever-loyal companion and best friend in one other."
Alex coordinated his proposal in January 2023 during a candlelit dinner on a beach just outside of CancĂșn. Rose petals with a ring box at the center were brought out during dessert, and after an excited "yes!," they spent the rest of their vacation soaking up the sun and celebrating their engagement.

Since Kaity and Alex had both moved to Wisconsin, most of their guests would be traveling to their wedding from out of state. The Overture Center was the perfect venue to show off downtown Madison, while also embodying the couple's romantic, whimsical, and modern style. They were especially drawn to the airy expansiveness of the large windows and high ceilings, choosing to accentuate the venue's beauty with a natural color palette of purple and green.
Rob Anderson of OSO IN LOVE helped coordinate and plan the day, connecting the couple with a great team of local vendors, including Velvet Rentals, the Bluewater Kings Band, and Gallant Knight Limousine to ensure guests could safely get around the city.

B-Style brought Kaity's floral dreams to life with stunning, locally sourced bouquets and asymmetrical flower arrangements from the ceremony to the reception. At the ceremony, Kaity walked down the aisle to a string trio rendition of Taylor Swift's Invisible String, bridesmaid's dresses paying homage to a subtle "Speak Now" & "Lavender Haze" theme. She wore an ethereal a-line gown from Vera's Bridals, with a delicate lace bustier, nude netting, a flowing skirt, and a cathedral-length tulle wedding veil with lace edges.

After a delicious meal catered by Catering a Fresco, the reception continued with music from The Bluewater Kings Band and a packed dance floor.

Dave Stremikis Photography composed and finalized a timeline that ensured plenty of time for both candid and posed photos inside and outside the venue. He even braved some rain in the pursuit of stunning photos that called back to the couple's first date.

When asked their advice for couples currently planning their wedding, the couple had this to say:
"...there are many vendors who are willing, able, and experts in their field to take over every aspect of your wedding. Know you don't have to do it all. It is more than OK to take a step back from it all or ask for help, or even change your mind on some details to make your life easier."
"Your wedding is about committing yourself to your love, and try to keep that at the center of your decisions."
