TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS & WHAT YOU OFFER: At Bauer Jewelry Designs, we are a mother and son family-owned business that handcrafts custom jewelry for each of our clients. We work one-on-one with each client to create unique designs that will be enjoyed for generations. Our handcrafted jewelry reflects the passions and the lifestyle of each of our individual clients. Our customers are able to select their own gemstones after a conversation with us concerning types of gemstones, shapes, and sizes. At Bauer Jewelry Designs, we also create redesigns with our customers’ gems and jewelry. Appraisals and repair services are all offered and completed in our shop.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY STARTING YOUR BUSINESS AND THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME: (Jake Bauer) When I was 17 years old, I was the first to request to my high school counselor to create a jewelry goldsmith apprentice program in the state of Wisconsin. I was able to work with Goodman’s Jewelers as the first state of Wisconsin apprentice program. At a young age, I began winning awards for my designs and craftsmanship in handcrafting custom jewelry. Later in my career, I was selected one out of four in the United States to participate in the Bench Pressure challenge to engrave and create jewelry under tight timeframes. I recently was chosen as one out of twelve worldwide to be tutored by Alexandre Sidorov, a world-renowned diamond setter, in the Grand Master Program. I strive for perfection and am truly passionate about creating designs for my clients.
(Kim Bauer) I have a pretty extensive art background, which I use in my designs. I love to listen to my clients and consult with them on designs and gemstones. I am a certified GIA Diamonds graduate, a certified GIA Colored Stones expert, and completed an accredited jewelry professional program. As an artist, business manager, and client consultant at Bauer Jewelry Designs, my passion for fine jewelry and art is perfectly at home with my drive to provide the absolute best in quality and customer service.
WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHER VENDORS IN YOUR INDUSTRY? Our passion, education in the jewelry industry, and our award-winning designs are what set us apart. We care about our clients and are honored to handcraft a custom piece of jewelry that generations will be able to wear and enjoy.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING IN THE LOVE INDUSTRY? We love working with our clients. It all about the individual person – their stories of how they met, their lifestyle, and what they are passionate about in life. This allows us to create a one of a kind design that symbolizes them.
ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE? Our logo represents love, life, and family. Do you know that when penguins mate for life, the male offers to his mate a stone of his lifelong commitment? The couple is dedicated to caring for their children. The male protects the young from the harsh environment while the female hunts and bring back food to feed their family. It’s all about love.
