Want to make a statement with greenery? Katie and Andy sure did with stunning tall centerpieces that adorned their King's table, chairs and bouquets with pretty blooms by Flora Designs by Jamae. This made for the most romantic lush garden wedding celebration right in the heart of downtown Madison captured by Ann Gorgen Photography.

WEDDING DATE: 09/03/2016

HOW DID YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND MEET? We met in high school - I was older by 2 years, but apparently couldn't resist myself! He was in my sister's class and I always thought he was so cute!!

HOW DID YOU KNOW HE WAS "THE ONE"? I feel like I've always sort of known, honestly. Deep down I think we both have always known. We dated on and off after high school, met other people, but always came back to one another. When we got married last year, it was 11 years ago - almost to the day - that we went on our first date.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: It was Thanksgiving day in 2015. Because we're from the same town, holidays are absolutely crazy. I think we had 3 or 4 places to go that day, and we stopped back at my parents where we left our dog so we could let him out and play a bit. We were just watching him run around and I looked over and Andy was on one knee. I always thought I would know when it was going to happen--just since we'd been together for so long. I knew we were ready by the time it happened but had no idea in the moment. I should also add he tried taking me to the place we had our first kiss, but when he wanted to go to this random place and we had so many places to be I shut him down, ha!

TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS: It was almost instantly the one when I tried it on. It was a satin and lace fit-and-flare, with oyster satin and ivory lace overlay on the bodice and a lace cutout/detail at the end of the train. Can I put photos in here?! I loved it so much.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: Garden roses, ranunculus, spray roses and dahlia in neutral shades like white, ivory, and dusty rose, with whimsical greens like eucalyptus and juniper berries.

WERE THERE ANY PERSONAL TOUCHES OR DIY ELEMENTS? Yes! Kind of. The dress was typically worn strapless, but came with thin satin straps that hooked in. They didn't quite feel like a part of the dress, but I knew I wanted straps. So the dress company sent some extra lace and the shop sewed delicate pieces of lace onto the front side of the straps and I absolutely loved it!

Also for personal touches, I wore one of my grandmother's garters and I used clipped my other grandmother's wedding earrings to my bouquet that day.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT FROM YOUR WEDDING? Oh man. How to pick! We danced in the middle of a circle of our family and friends at the very end of the night all singing, "Piano Man," by Billy Joel.

DID YOU USE ANY SPECIALTY CHAIRS, LINENS, CHARGERS, GLASSWARE OR DINNERWARE?  The chairs at the Edgewater were beautiful--gold cushion seats. We used a textured almond dupioni linens on the head table with a Moroccan runner, navy napkins atop glass and gold beaded chargers with a little sprig of rosemary on top!
