WEDDING DATE: 5/18/2018
HOW DID YOU MEET? Through a mutual friend one night out in Madison, we became roommates shortly after and maintained a 10-year friendship after that.
HOW DID YOU KNOW HE/SHE WAS "THE ONE"? After 10 years of friendship, our timing finally worked out to date and as soon as we started dating, we knew we were meant to spend our lives together.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: Matt proposed at the UW-Madison Arboretum, which is one of our favorite places to see the trees blossom during springtime in Madison.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR DRESS: We were down visiting friends in Chicago and I took advantage of the opportunity to make an appointment at Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue. After trying on several options, my friend spotted my dress and as soon as I tried it on, I knew it was the one. It also happened to be a sample and perfectly my size already.
WHAT WAS YOUR WEDDING COLOR PALETTE? Silver, blush, and champagne.
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: Local spring blooms.
DID YOU USE ANY SPECIALTY TABLES, CHAIRS, LINENS OR DINNERWARE? We used Event Essential's chair covers, ties, and table runners.
WERE THERE ANY PERSONAL TOUCHES OR DIY ELEMENTS? Our bridesmaids helped us make handmade table place cards. Our family spent the morning of the wedding helping Matt arrange the reception area beautifully.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT FROM YOUR WEDDING? We both loved seeing so many of our family and friends having a blast letting loose on the dance floor.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON PLANS: Greece, Paris, and Rome.
WHAT DOES LIFE LOOK LIKE AFTER THE WEDDING? Pretty much a continuation of life before with one perfectly beautiful day to remember forever added in.
IS THERE ANY ADVICE YOU'D GIVE TO OTHERS PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Don't sweat the small stuff. It's easy to see things that you think would be cool to add but without an unlimited budget, it's easy to get carried away. Create a realistic budget right away and stick to it. If you go over budget somewhere, create space in a different area. And don't forget to breathe and take in the day itself; it really does fly by.
