Gorgeous rich hues of plum, eggplant and dusty lavender with gray grace us in today's real wedding of Adam and Ashley's shot by Ann Gorgen Photogprahy. We can't quite get enough of this new favorite lush color palette and those adorbs custom koozies.

WEDDING DATE: September 24, 2016

HOW DID YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND MEET? We grew up showing dairy cattle together at the Lafayette County Fair. Both of our families dairy farms were about 20 minutes apart, so we grew up together in an industry we both love.

HOW DID YOU KNOW HE WAS "THE ONE"? I just kind of always knew. There is no one in the world that makes me happier or a better version of myself than Adam. We are truly the perfect definition of opposites attract.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: Adam's sister and my sister both showed dairy cattle during the county fair in 2015. While we were both helping get cows prepared for the show ring, the superintendent announced that there was going to be a brief presentation during the show. I was asked to come out to the ring and assumed it was for some sort of award and was really quite confused at what was happening. A few seconds after I got out to the center of the ring, Adam came out, took the microphone, and proceeded to propose. I was so surprised and overjoyed. I was surrounded by my family and closest friends; it was everything I could have ever asked for and more.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS: The only thing I really knew I wanted when I went in for my dress was that I wanted it to be strapless. The girl that worked with us at Vera's did an amazing job or narrowing down my style. She would bring me dresses, I would critique them, and then she would bring one that was closer to what I wanted. I almost didn't try on the dress I got but once I tried it on I knew. It was ivory, lace, had a beautiful train with buttons going the entire length of it, and a beaded belt was added for a touch of bling.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: Our florist and family friend, LuAnn, did an amazing job of capturing our personal style and keeping the flowers budget friendly. All we had given her was the theme of our wedding and let her work her magic from there. Once we decided to go with artificial flowers, it was style that was most important. Simply elegant, what better way to reach that than calla lilly, hydrangeas, seasonal mums, ranunculus in complimentary plums with a splash of ivory and gray. Seedlings, eucalyptus, and thistle were added for texture and dimension making you second guess if they were real or artificial. The traditional nosegay style with wrist corsages and boutonnire accommodated all the wedding party and family. The bridal bouquet was personalized with keepsakes passed down from grandmother to mother to bride. Not only being budget friendly but the convenience of going with artificial made for a stress-free day. Many of the memories of our wedding day will always be remembered by the color palette, simplicity, and character achieved by embodying our own personal style. It is also wonderful to still have all of our flowers on display in our home.

WERE THERE ANY PERSONAL TOUCHES OR DIY ELEMENTS? My great aunt altered my dress and made my veil which was extremely meaningful to me. My mom also surprised me the morning of my wedding by having our florist add the pearl necklace she wore at her wedding and a blue broach of my late grandma's to my bouquet which was a beautiful touch. My mom with the help of my dad, florist, and a neighbor friend created our card box out of an old milk can that turned out fabulous.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT FROM YOUR WEDDING? The whole day was amazing, it is hard to pick out just one favorite moment. However, after our first dance, my dad was supposed to join me on the dancefloor to take part in the father-daughter dance. Instead of coming on the dancefloor with me, he took the microphone from our DJ and started to sing along to the song "I Loved Her First" by Heartland. Neither myself or Adam knew about this little show that he was about to put on. Adam and I were both extremely emotional while we danced to the song. It was the biggest surprise of the day and I will never get that feeling or how special that moment was for me. Being surrounded by family and friends all there celebrating our love was just the greatest feeling of my life.
