A classic Wisconsin tent wedding reception followed by a barn dance overlooking beautiful views at Madison wedding venue, Bridle Barn & Gardens located just outside of the city along the countryside of Mount Horeb. With beautiful event rentals from Event Essentials, navy and gold invitations, place cards and table numbers from Sugar Pear Design and loads of imagery by Tim Fitch Photography, this is a tented pretty party among rolling hills and there's even more of it to be pored through right here.
WEDDING DATE: 07/28/18
HOW DID YOU MEET? We both work at Epic in Verona, WI.
HOW DID YOU KNOW HE/SHE WAS "THE ONE"? When we survived two years long-distance during my grad school in Atlanta.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: We got engaged in Portugal in July 2017 - he had planned to do it during a day hike but the place we were staying had the most beautiful view of Porto that he spontaneously moved it up to the night before!
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR DRESS: I chose the first dress I tried on at Bella Bianca in Chicago. It was nothing like I planned to wear but I absolutely loved it. My dress was the inspiration for everything else - the table settings, the bridesmaid's dresses, and the floral.
WHAT WAS YOUR WEDDING COLOR PALETTE? Navy, gold, and white.
DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: I wanted to keep them understated - white and neutral colors, but beautiful natural bouquets from Sunborn Gardens.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT FROM YOUR WEDDING? Hiding from the guests behind the trees as we got ready to walk out for the ceremony - the wedding party and family were able to have a fun secret moment before we got the party started!
WERE THERE ANY PERSONAL TOUCHES OR DIY ELEMENTS? We featured both our parent's wedding portraits on the welcome table.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING STYLE? Clean and crisp.
DID YOU USE ANY SPECIALTY TABLES, CHAIRS, LINENS OR DINNERWARE? Everything was from Event Essentials. Loved the gold chargers we picked!
TELL US ABOUT YOUR HONEYMOON PLANS: We did a wonderful trip to Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand in April so we're kind of counting that as a pre-honeymoon. We bought a house in Middleton a week after the wedding - so making that our own will probably be our honeymoon replacement.
WHAT DOES LIFE LOOK LIKE AFTER THE WEDDING? Moving into our forever home! And continuing to do triathlons - we traveled to Lake Placid, NY a few weeks after the wedding for a Half Ironman.
IS THERE ANY ADVICE YOU'D GIVE TO OTHERS PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Learn to say, "Anything is fine." Very few people will ever remember what the ring bearer box looked like or what earrings the bridesmaids wore - so let someone else who wants to have fun with it pick those things out while you focus on the elements that matter the most to you.
