Take a trolley ride with us through the woods for today's romantic wedding by Ann Gorgen Photography. Like something out of a fairytale, Patrick and Amanda's gorgeous wedding ceremony was set back in the beautiful woods right behind their home in their "special little spot." A unique day not like any other wedding their guests have ever experienced, they boarded a trolley pulled by a tractor and were transported to the ceremony location that was created with ALOT of labor of love by the couple. They custom made logs for the alter and centerpieces made out of birch trees along with that stunning custom made sign that hung above the ceremony barn doors.

WEDDING DATE: 9/17/16

HOW DID YOU MEET? We met at a close friend's wedding, the rehearsal dinner to be exact.

HOW DID YOU KNOW HE WAS "THE ONE"? When we had to spend almost a month apart, it was horrible! Now we hate even spending a day apart.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: We had gone out to a romantic dinner and then took a stroll at Monona Terrace. He proposed on the rooftop garden. I thought he was joking at first but it was perfect!

TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS: It was an Essense of Australia dress. The color was caf with an ivory lace over top and it had gorgeous detail up the back of it.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS: They were all handmade by the mother of the groom. They incorporated the ivory, coral and accent colors. The bride's bouquet and the groom's boutonniere had a special touch of real pheasant feathers! Patrick loves to hunt with his two dogs Maggy and Daisy so the feathers really made the flowers ours.

WERE THERE ANY PERSONAL TOUCHES OR DIY ELEMENTS? We created the entire ceremony site, clearing the area, spreading the bark, and building the road to get into the woods. We love the outdoors and so being able to get married at home in the woods was so, "us." Most of the decor was made by us. We cut logs for behind the altar, made the candle holders for the centerpieces out of a birch tree, and put together a few flower arrangements for the reception. The whiskey barrel tables for our popcorn bar and gift table were rented, as were the barn doors we had our sign on at the ceremony. The beautiful sign over the entrance at our ceremony was painted by a dear friend's mother who used to be my art teacher. The cafe lights on the ceiling, card box, and other various items were rented as well.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT FROM YOUR WEDDING? One of our most memorable moments was definitely seeing each other for the first time. Another was getting to hear everyone's comments and reactions not only to the beautiful setting and taking the trolley ride through the woods to our special little spot, but the whole experience.
